Flower broadly funnel-shaped, frilly edges, 2½" across, heavily textured, purple, fading inside to light purple center. Dome-shaped truss holds 4-5 flowers.

Leaves elliptic, slightly down-curved margins, broadly acute apex, cuneate base, 2" to 2½" long, dark grayish reddish-brown in late winter, retained 1-2 years. Dense growth habit.
