 Flower openly funnel-shaped, 2" to 2⅜" across, strong purplish red shading inward to strong purplish pink, pale pink in center, marked purplish-red. Ages to pinkish-white. Held in dome-shaped trusses with 11-14 flowers.

 Leaves elliptic, pointed, recurved, 4" to 5" long, densely hairy, dark green, retained 3 years. Grows wider than tall.
