R. 'Breezy'

Elepidote Rhododendron: 'Breezy'

Flower light pink with prominent maroon blotch, broadly funnel-shaped, 3½" across, wavy-edged lobes.  Ball-shaped truss has 8-12 flowers.  Blooms early midseason.  Leaves oblong, obtuse apex, rounded base, 5" long, semi glossy, medium green, retained 3 years.  Plant dense, well-shaped.  Typical height: 6 ft. in 10 yrs.  Plant is hardy to -15° F (-26°C).  Hybridized by Thornton.

 
R. 'Dora Amateis'

Lepidote Rhododendron: 'Dora Amateis'

Flower white with faint green spotting, openly funnel-shaped, 2" across.  Held in lax truss of 6-8 flowers.  Very floriferous plant.  Blooms early midseason.  Leaves elliptic, acute apex, cuneate base, re-curved, 2" long, light green with bronze highlights, if grown in full sun.  Compact habit.  Height: 3 ft. in 10 yrs.  Grows twice as wide as high.  Plant is hardy to -15° F (-26° C).  Prefers some shade for best performance.  Hybridized by Amateis.  Received the Award of Excellence from the ARS and the First Class Certificate from the Royal Horticultural Society.

 
R. 'Jeremiah'

Evergreen Azalea: 'Jeremiah'

Flower hose-in-hose, deep pink, unmarked, openly funnel-shaped, wavy lobes, 2½" across.  Inflorescence 3-4 flowered.  Blooms midseason.  Leaves oblanceolate to obovate, mucronate apex, cuneate base, 1" long, glossy, moderate yellow green, red in winter.  Round plant habit.  Grows to height of about 3 ft. in 10 yrs.  Cold hardy to -10°F (-23°C).  Hybridized by Girard.

 
R. 'Golden Flare'

Deciduous Azalea: 'Golden Flare'

Flower vivid yellow with strong orange blotch, openly tubular funnel-shaped, about 2½" across, lower lobes turned down.  Ball-shaped truss holds 12-14 flowers.  Blooms midseason to late midseason.  Leaves obovate, broadly acute apex, cuneate base, 4" to 5" long, glossy, incised veins, medium green, hairy edges.  Upright, well-branched habit.  Grows to a typical height of 6 ft. in 10 years.  Cold hardy to -20° F (-29° C).  Hybridized by Metselaar.
