 Flowers widely funnel-shaped, single, 1½" to 2" across x about ¾" long, with 5 smooth-edged lobes; vivid reddish orange to strong yellowish pink, slightly fragrant. Terminal truss holds 2-3 flowers.

 Leaves elliptic, flat, acuminate, cuneate, 4" to 4¾" long with scaly indumentum; mahogany color in autumn, retained 15 months. Broadly upright habit.
