R. 'Trinity'

Elepidote Rhododendron: 'Trinity'

Flower white with faint green spotting on dorsal lobe, shaded pale purplish-pink on lobe edges and reverse when newly opened, openly funnel-shaped, wavy lobes, 2¾" across, faintly fragrant.  Held in ball-shaped trusses of 14 flowers.  Blooms late midseason.  Leaves oblanceolate, obtuse apex, cuneate base, 4¼" long, convex, yellowish-green with thin, easily rubbed off orange-yellow indumentum that darkens with age.  New growth has orange-tan indumentum.  Rounded growth habit.  Grows to a typical height of 2 ft. in 10 years.  Cold hardy to -25°F (-32°C).  Hybridized by Pride.

   
R. 'Windbeam'

Lepidote Rhododendron: 'Windbeam'

Flower opens white tinged pale apricot, aging to white, after 3-4 days flowers become light purplish-pink, dorsal lobe slightly spotted red, funnel-shaped, wavy-edges, ¾" across.  Ball-shaped truss holds 8 flowers.  Blooms early midseason.  Leaves elliptic to lanceolate, obtuse apex, cuneate base, 2" to 2¾" long, moderate olive green.  Willowy and straggly plant habit.  Reaches a height of 3 ft. in 10 years.  Cold hardy to -25ºF (-32ºC).  Hybridized by Nearing.

 
R. 'Martha Hitchcock'

Evergreen Azalea: 'Martha Hitchcock'

Flower white, with strong purplish-red edges and purplish red spotting, single, 3" across.  Young plants often produce strong reddish purple flowers.  Inflorescence 1-3 flowered.  Blooms midseason.  Leaves 2¾" long, hairy, dark green.  Broad, open habit.  Grows to 3 ft. in 10 years.  Cold hardy to -10°F (-23°C).  Hybridized by Morrison.  Won an ARS Award of Merit and a First Class Certificate from the RHS.

 
R. 'Fragrant Star'

Deciduous Azalea: 'Fragrant Star'

Flower pale yellow in bud opens pale yellow inside, yellowish white outside, unmarked, tubular funnel-shaped, wavy lobes, 1½" across, very strongly scented.  Blooms midseason.  Leaves obovate, obtuse at apex, cuneate at base, 2" long, bluish-green.  Upright plant habit.  Grows approximately 4 ft. tall in 10 yers.  Cold hardy to -20°F (-29°C).  Good heat tolerance.  Created by treating R. 'Snowbird' with colchine.  Developed by Briggs Nursery.
