R. 'Calsap'

Elepidote Rhododendron: 'Calsap'

Flower white with a dark red blotch, reverse flushed very pale purple, tubular funnel-shaped, wavy edges, 2¾" across.  Conical-shaped truss holds 18 flowers.  Blooms late midseason.  Leaves oblong, apiculate apex, cuneate base, convex, 5½" long, emerald green, retained 2 years.  Plant needs sun for dense habit.  Grows to a typical height of 4 ft. in 10 years.  Cold hardy to -25°F (-32°C).  Hybridized by Michener.

 
R. 'Dora Amateis'

Lepidote Rhododendron: 'Dora Amateis'

Flower white with faint green spotting, broadly funnel-shaped, 2" across, sometimes fragrant.  Held in lax trusses of 6-8 flowers.  Blooms early midseason.  Leaves 1½" to 2½" long, re-curved, dark green.  Prefers some shade for best performance.  Typical height: 3 ft. in 10 years.  Grows twice as wide as tall.  Cold hardy to -15°F (-26°C)  Hybridized by Amateis.

 
R. 'Nancy of Robinhill'

Evergreen Azalea: 'Nancy of Robinhill'

Flower light purplish pink with small, inconspicuous red blotch and spotting on some flowers, broadly funnel-shaped, hose-in-hose, wavy edges, double or semi double, 3½" across.  Inflorescence 2 to 3 flowered.  Blooms late midseason.  Leaves broadly elliptic, mucronate apex, cuneate base, 1⅜" long, glossy, moderate olive green, retained 3 years.  Broad, dense habit with decumbent branches.  Low growing to 1 ft. in 10 years.  Flower bud hardy to -10°F (-23°C).  Hybridized by Gartrell.

 
R. 'Gibraltar'

Deciduous Azalea: 'Gibraltar'

Flower vivid orange, flushed red orange, deep crimson in bud, tubular funnel-shaped, frilly edges, 2⅜" to 3" across.  Ball-shaped trusses hold 10-12 flowers.  Blooms midseason.  Mildew resistant.  Upright growth habit.  Grows to a typical height of 5 ft. in 10 years.  Cold hardy to -15°F (-26°C).  Hybridized by Edmund de Rothschild.
