R. 'Minas Grand Pre'

Elepidote Rhododendron: 'Minas Grand Pre'

Flower pale purplish-pink, unmarked, campanulate shaped, 2" across.  Held in lax trusses of 10 flowers.  Blooms late midseason.  Leaves elliptic, obtuse apex, oblique to cordate base, 3" long, new foliage is copper colored.  Compact plant habit.  Grows to a typical height of 2 ft. in 10 yrs.  Cold hardy to -10°F (-23°C).  Hybridized by Swain.

 
R. 'Lavender Frost'

Lepidote Rhododendron: 'Lavender Frost'

Flower very pale purple to almost white with light purple margins, flushed pale greenish-yellow when opening, broadly funnel-shaped, fully double, wavy edges, 1½" across.  Held in dome-shaped trusses of about 4 flowers.  Blooms early midseason.  Leaves elliptic, 1¾" long, glossy, mid green, retained 1 year.  Wide and compact habit when young, more upright with age.  Typical height: 3 ft. in 10 yrs.  Plant is hardy to -20°F (-29°C).  Hybridized by Mezitt.

Evergreen Azalea: R. yedoense var. poukhanense

Flower rose-pink to pale lilac-purple, broadly funnel-shaped, fragrant.  Truss holds 2 to 3 flowers.  Blooms early midseason.  Leaves elliptic-lanceolate to oblanceolate, spring leaves deciduous, to 3" long, summer leaves smaller, almost deciduous.  Semi-upright plant habit.  Grows to a typical height of 4 ft. in 10 yrs.  Cold hardy to -15°F (-26°C).  Grows in the wild in Korea and Japan (Tsushima).

 
R. 'Pink and Sweet'

Deciduous Azalea: 'Pink and Sweet'

Flower deep purplish-pink with a dark pink central stripe edged on each side with yellow flare on dorsal lobe, openly funnel-shaped, wavy edges, 1½" across.  Dome-shaped truss hold 7 flowers.  Blooms late.  Leaves obovate, broadly acute apex, cuneate base, down-curved margins, 2½" long, glossy dark green.  Upright, dense plant habit.  Grows to about 4 ft. tall in 10 years.  Hardy to -20°F (-29°C).  Hybridized by Mezitt.
