R. 'Jenny Tabol'

Elepidote Rhododendron: 'Jenny Tabol'

Flower light yellow with pink margins on lobe sides, openly funnel-shaped.  Blooms midseason.  Leaves large, medium green.  Dense, rounded plant habit.  Grows to a typical height of 3 ft. tall in 10 years.  Hardy to -10°F (-23°C).  Hybridized by Tabol.

 
R. 'Patty Bee'

Lepidote Rhododendron: R. 'Patty Bee'

Flower light greenish-yellow, no markings, openly funnel-shaped, wavy lobed, 2" across.  Held in lax truss with 6 flowers.  Blooms early midseason.  Leaves narrowly elliptic to elliptic, acute apex, cuneate base, 1⅜" long, green, retained 2 years.  Grows broader than tall, dense plant habit.  Typical height: 2 ft. in 10 years.  Plant is hardy to -5°F (-21°C).  Hybridized by Berg.

 
R. 'Herbert'

Evergreen Azalea: 'Herbert'

Flower vivid reddish purple with a darker blotch, openly funnel-shaped, 1¾" across, frilled edges, hose-in-hose.  Blooms midseason.  Leaves elliptic, acute apex, cuneate base, about 1" long, medium green.  Dense, spreading habit.  Grows to a height of about 3 ft. in 10 years.  Cold hardy to -10°F (-23°C).  Hybridized by Gable.

 
R. prunifolium

Deciduous Azalea: R. prunifolium

Flower usually orange-red to vivid red, occasionally light orange, funnel-shaped, 1½" to 2" across.  Inflorescence has 4-7 flowers.  Blooms very late.  Leaves elliptic to obovate, up to 6" long, medium green, deciduous.  Upright, spreading, open growth habit.  Height: 6 ft. or more in 10 years.  Cold hardy to -10°F (-23°C).  Native species found in the wild in the Georgia-Alabama border area.
