R. 'Rubicon'

Elepidote Rhododendron: 'Rubicon'

Flower deep red with black spots on dorsal lobes.  Truss holds 17-18 flowers.   Blooms early midseason.  Leaves are very shiny, medium sized and deeply veined.  Grows to a typical height about 5 ft. in 10 yrs.  Cold hardy to 5°F (-15°C).  Hybridized by Gordon.

 
R. 'John Paul Evans'

Lepidote Rhododendron: 'John Paul Evans'

Flower pale yellow to white with brilliant orange-yellow throat, campanulate with distinctive re-curved petals, fragrant, 4" across.  Flat-shaped trusses.  Blooms early midseason.  Leaves oblong to elliptic, apiculate apex, cuneate base, bullate above, retained for 2 years.  Upright, well-branched, papery reddish-brown bark on trunk and branches.  Grows to a typical height of 7 ft. in 10 years.  Suitable for mild areas where minimum temperature doesn't go below 30°F (0°C).  Hybridized by Evans.

 
R. 'Cameo'

Evergreen Azalea: 'Cameo'

Flower light pink, hose-in-hose, single or double, 1½" across.  Blooms late midseason.  Upright, spreading plant habit.  Grows to a typical height of 4 ft. in 10 years.  Cold hardy to -10°F (-23°C).  Hybridized by Gable.

 
R. 'Homebush'

Deciduous Azalea: 'Homebush'

Flower vivid purplish pink on a base of vivid purplish red, openly funnel-shaped, slightly re-curved lobes, about 1⅛" across, semi-double.  Tight, ball-shaped truss with 12-16 flowers.  Holds color well in sun.  Blooms late midseason.  Leaves elliptic, broadly acute apex, cuneate base, light green.  Upright, open growth habit.  Grows to a typical height of 6 ft. in 10 yrs.  Cold hardy to 0°F (-18°C).  Hybridized by Waterer (Knaphill).  Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.
