Elepidote Rhododendron: 'Senator Henry Jackson'

Flower white, unmarked, openly-funnel-shaped, held in ball-shaped trusses with 8-10 flowers.  Blooms late midseason.  Leaves narrowly elliptic, or linear lanceolate, edges recurved, 5" to 6" long. dark green, sparse white-colored indumentum.  Mounding plant habit.  Typical height: 3 feet in 10 years.  Plant and bud hardy to -5°F (-21°C).  Hybridized by Larson.

Lepidote Rhododendron: 'Saffron Queen'

Flower vivid yellow with darker spotting on dorsal lobes, funnel-shaped, 2½" across.  Held in lax trusses with 8 - 9 flowers.  Blooms early midseason.  Leaves lanceolate to oblanceolate, up to 3½" long, glossy green.  Upright, open growth habit.  Prefers some sun.  Grows to a height of about 4 ft. in 10 years.  Hardy to 20°F (-7°C).  Hybridized by Waterer.

Evergreen Azalea: 'Vuyk's Scarlet'

Flower deep red with darker spots towards base of throat, funnel-shaped, frilly-edges, 2" across.  Inflorescence 1 or 2 flowered.  Blooms midseason.  Leaves 1" long, glossy, dark green, turn dark red in autumn.  Compact, spreading habit.  Typical height is 2 feet after 10 years.  Cold hardy to -10°F (-23°C).  Hybridized by Van Nes.  Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1993.

Deciduous Azalea: 'Jock Brydon'

Flower white suffused pink, center petal speckled strong orange, tubular, wavy and ruffled edges, 2¾" across, fragrant.  Ball-shaped truss holds 12 to 16 flowers.  Blooms late midseason to late.  Leaves elliptic, 3½" long, olive green.  Upright, dense plant habit.  Grows to a typical height of 7 ft. in 10 years.  Cold hardy to -5°F (-21°C).  Hybridized by Clausen.  Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 2012.
