R. 'Grace Seabrook'

Elepidote Rhododendron: 'Grace Seabrook'

Flower currant red at margins shading to blood red at center, funnel-shaped, wavy-edges, 3" across.  Held in tight, ball-shaped truss of about 12 flowers.  Blooms early midseason.  Leaves are large, pointed, very thick, dark green with sparse indumentum.  Typical height: 4 ft. in 10 yrs.  Plant and bud hardy to -5°F (-21°C).  Hybridized by Seabrook.

 
R. 'Crater Lake'

Lepidote Rhododendron: 'Crater Lake'

Flower brilliant violet, with no markings.  Flat saucer-shaped, wavy lobes, 2" across.  Held in trusses with 3 flowers.  Blooms early midseason.  Leaves elliptic, acute apex, cuneate base, 1½" to 2" long, yellow-green, retained for 2 years.  Plant has upright habit.  New growth bronze colored.  Grows to a height of about 5 ft. in 10 years.  Cold hardy to -5°F (-21°C).  Hybridized by Phetteplace.

 
R. 'Cherry Drops'

Evergreen Azalea: 'Cherry Drops'

Flower cherry-red, openly funnel-shaped, frilly lobes.  Truss has 3-4 flowers.  Blooms midseason.  Leaves small, glossy, mid green.  Compact grower with densely branching habit.  Plant grows wider than tall.  Typical height is 2 to 3 ft. after 10 years.  Cold hardy to 0°F (-18°C).  Hybridized by Mauritsan.

 
R. 'Humboldt Picotee'

Deciduous Azalea: 'Humboldt Picotee'

Flower inside white with strong orange yellow blotch, strong red picotee edge; red coloration is extremely variable; outside almost entirely strong red, tubular funnel-shaped; 1¾" across, strongly scented.  Leaves elliptic, broadly acute apex, cuneate base, flat, glossy 3" long, green overlaid with varying degrees of dark red.  Blooms midseason to late midseason.  Grows to a typical height of 2 ft. in 10 years.  Cold hardy to 5° F (-15°C).  Selected by Smith and Mossman.
